The following serves as general guidelines on how to format Authors category pages correctly. We all want to be the best editors we can be and we all want this wiki to grow; so when you are editing, please make sure you're formatting pages correctly. These aren't necessarily rules that you must follow to the letter; they are more along the lines of guidelines to make sure things run smoothly and look uniform.
Below are some tips to help you when editing.
Creating An Author Category Page
When creating a brand new page for an author, there are 3 main things that need to be considered. They are:
- the welcoming message
- the books
- the links
Tip: When creating a new author category page, it is always wise to have another browser tab/window open with an established author category page. That way you can toggle between the two to compare and determine what you need and what is missing from the page you are creating.
The Welcoming Message
For the welcoming message we use the message that is found on the beginning of any book written by the author it's written in italic font.
The Books
For the books we use a table consisting 5 columns:
Title:
We put the book name according to the date it was published on Chapters and link it to the book Page for example
Title
---
Feel the Heat
Genre:
We put the genre of the book as written in Chapters like if it's genre is Sweet we write Sweet not Sweet Romance for example
Genre
---
Sexy
Release Date (M.D.Y):
We put the Release Date that's found on the book page in the format of Month. Day. Year for example
Release Date (M.D.Y)
---
February 21, 2019
Release Date (Y.M.D):
We put the Release Date that's found on the book page in the format of Year. Month. Day for example
Release Date (Y.M.D)
---
2019.02.21
Series:
We put the series of book name in it if the book have a series if it doesn't we put a simple (-) for example
Series
---
Hot in the Kitchen
if the book doesn't have a series
Series
---
-
The links
For the links we use 3 subheadings which are:
Twitter: We put the author's official account name and link it to twitter for example
Goodreads: We put the author's account name and link it to goodreads for example
Official Site: We put the author's official site name and link it to the site for example
